RICH GOODHART
is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound healing pratitioner,
teacher and recording artist working with world music in
non-traditional forms. His latest CD of celebratory world beat invocations, sonic transportations and spirit chants is titled “Earth Spiral Water Sound” and his third recording, "Never Give A Sword To A Man Who Can't Dance", has been hailed as "The ultimate sound track to one's most private ritual dream" by New Age Retailer magazine. World percussion master Glen Velez has described his music as having "a true sense of adventure, with plenty of backbone and vibrant heart".
Rich has studied with master musicians of Africa, India, America and
Indonesia. He has performed and collaborated with many highly regarded
musicians, dancers and writers including: Allen Ginsberg, Daevid Allen,
Collin Walcott, Deepak Chopra, Bill T. Jones, Nawang Khechog, Steve
Gorn, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Gilli Smyth, Paul Horn, Shahram Shiva,
Robert Gass, Michael Harrison and Krishna Das.
His
Sound Healing studies include extensive work with Sarah Benson,
intensive training with sound master Tom Kenyon and additional studies
with Russill Paul, Dabadi Thaayrohyadi, Fiona Whitmore, the work of
Jonathan Goldman and many others.
In
addition he is a Qigong instructor and has extensive experience with
Tai Chi, meditation, yoga and esoteric shamanic practices. For many
years he was a regular teacher
on the Omega Institute HSP faculty and has also taught at Rowe
Conference Center and at the Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA.
Rich Goodhart is likely to be found performing on dousn'goni, sanza, African
drums, frame drums, dulcitar, berimbau, Native American flutes, melodica, and
jaw harp.
